What is HL7?
Health Level Seven (HL7) is an international standard for the secure, electronic exchange of medical, financial and administrative information in healthcare. The aim is to provide standards for electronic information exchange and for the use of information in healthcare by healthcare providers and patients. This supports the care sector in safely optimizing care processes, promoting quality and uniformity in care and in the exchange of knowledge between all stakeholders, in order to improve care for and with patients and clients.

HL7 uses 4 different standards:

The HL7 organization currently has more than 200 affiliated organizations in the Netherlands, including general and university hospitals, GGZ, V&V, VG, home care, primary care and various providers of healthcare information systems. HL7 is supported worldwide by more than 1,600 members from more than 50 countries.
Outsource EDI with Managed EDI
